Ascend

Ascend is represented by an eagle.

God reveals Himself in many ways. One of the ways in which He does that is through nature. Eagles are the king of birds and are mentioned 32 times in the Bible. Quite often they are related to an aspect of God. For example, when an eagle thinks that her eaglets are ready to leave the nest, she takes away anything comfortable, finally sweeping them out of the nest with her wings. The father eagle is ready to catch them as they are falling. They do not have the wisdom yet to fly. He catches them on his back for a while then lets them go over and over again till they learn to soar, each time catching them on His back. When the eaglets do fly on their own, the parents celebrate, and circle around them. I love the picture that gives us of God helping us to spread our wings and soar. What He asks us to do may seem impossible, but He stays with us and catches us until we learn to do what He requires, and in this way we learn to trust Him. We learn that He

never fails us. He gives us fresh strength for our journey with Him. He catches us while we are learning to fly with Him.

Isaiah 40:31 (MSG) But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.
