Legacy

I used lace to impress the clay. I used lace because lace makes me think of my grandma who was one of the ones who passed this legacy of God on to me, through her prayers, love, and words of wisdom.

A legacy is an inheritance, a gift, and a birthright. It is something passed down to you that you didn’t earn yourself, someone else earned it and passed it on to you. This definition describes the promises that God makes to His children. We are His children when we believe in His one and only Son Jesus Christ. Because we believe in Jesus Christ, our legacy is incredible. God becomes our Father, and we become Heirs of God. The Bible says that we are chosen sons and daughters of God. We are beloved! Even before God made the world God chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. We are called holy and without fault, only because of the grace and mercy of God and the gift of salvation that Jesus offers us. We are madly loved by our heavenly Father. We are part of God’s plan, we have a purpose that God has created us for. We are HIS!!! We should be completely in awe of the fact that He loves us so much. He is definitely worth all our praise and worship. Our legacy is love, forgiveness and freedom. We didn’t earn any of these ourselves, Jesus earned it for us through His death and resurrection. What a wonderful gift. What a wonderful legacy we have. May we in turn pass this legacy on to those God has placed in our lives.

Galatians 4:4-7 (NLT) But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.

 Galatians 3: 26-29 (NLT) For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
